Too beautiful
Music/lyrics: F.H.Røed, July 2006.

I'm sitting back, I wonder why
it's such a drag to live and die
The bottom line in sun and rain
undoubtedly the world's insane

Please come to me, please come to me,
you're all I know

You start building defenses
You start building defenses
You're way too beautiful to me

I'm flying back to kingdom come
where did you go, what have you done?
Built monuments for all to see,
you close your eyes and look at me

Please come to me, please come to me,
you're all I know

You start building defenses
You start building defenses
You're way too beautiful to me

Some are good and some are bad,
the memories remain
time will never heal the pain
Some will pass and some live on
no matter how invane
things we did back when we both were young

Please come to me, please come to me,
you're all I know

You start building defenses
You start building defenses
You're way too beautiful to me
You're way too beautiful to me

The world is changing
Music/lyrics: F.H.Røed, 1996.

Sailing towards my planet Freedom,
space guides my ship ashore
The first step on soil for ages,
one step and one more

The world is changing into another world,
the world is changing,
are you ready for transformation

It's a dream, but I'm not sleeping,
feels like new life to me
The way the things are turning,
the way things will be

The world is changing into another world,
the world is changing,
are you ready, for transformation?

The world is changing into another world,
the world is changing,
are you ready...?

Changes, changes, transformation
Changes, changes, transformation
Changes, changes, transformation
The world is changing into another world,
the world is changing,
are you ready, for transformation?

I replace myself
Music/lyrics: F.H.Røed, 2003-2008.

I'm feeling content
I rewind myself, discovering new ground
I'm feeling content
I repeat myself, discovering new ground

I replace myself with another way out
I release myself to another world

I'm kind of content
If I lay back, discover a new life
Some kind of revenge
To repay myself for making a new life

I replace myself with another way out
I release myself to another world to come
I replace myself with another way out
I eject myself to another world

The taste of new fashion
it's a sort of compassion
a fracture of traditional pre-modern reactions
The thrill I feel inside
I fall and let go and here comes the tide

I replace myself with another way out
I release myself to another world to come
I replace myself with another way out
I eject myself to another world to come...

Finn Harald Røed, Transformation

Unconscious Mind
Music/lyrics: F.H.Røed, 1992.

There's a big time in an unconcious mind,
and it feels fine
Until anger comes along saying it's all wrong
and prison me
There's an old dream like a closing scene
won't let go of me
Better find you soon, so very soon
and passionly

Unconscious mind
Unconscious mind
Unconscious mind
and it feels fine

There's a blind man following after me
and he never stops
staring back at me with a nasty fantasy
what have I done?
If I only knew what I would be going trough
would I've given up?
It came as no surprise, it's a life built on lies
with my:

Unconscious mind
Unconscious mind
Unconscious mind
and it feels fine

(Uncover me to feel delightful
Uncover you to satisfy,
Uncover me, life is desire)

I'm tired of telling stories,
so tired of being in love with you
One day I'd like to break free with you.
Until anger comes along, saying it's all wrong
and prison me

Under your thought control
Music/lyrics: F.H.Røed, 2004-2008.

How can I face your crying mind?
you're full of fences
Reflected words, I hide so fine,
refurniture my life
The funny things, you telephone,
and then I could feel it;
that sacred mind you're feeding from
when there's no tension

Could need someone some day.
What are my chances
under your thought control?
Can't hear a word they say,
as long as I am,
under your thought control

How can I fail within your mind,
set up defenses,
the words you say, I feel so fine,
redecorate my life.
The monuments I'm living on,
just then I could feel it,
that scattered mind we're feeding from
when there's no tension...

Could need someone some day.
What are my chances
under your thought control?
Can't hear a word they say,
as long as I am,
under your thought control

Could need someone some day.
What are my chances
under your thought control?
Can't hear a word they say,
as long as I am,
under your thought control

How can I face your crying mind,
you're full of fences.
Reflected words, I hide so fine...

A few comments on the lyrics

Most of my lyrics are written in English, which has always felt like the natural pop music language to me. I am sure the obvious reason is that most of my music heroes while growing up were British pop stars.

While listening to the latest hits on the radio, my record player or MC player, I knew and sang the words before I actually understood their meaning (which was probably just as well with some of the stuff). Under this influence, the English linguistic sounds became a natural part of the sounds that I find neccessary to compose a song. We are all shaped by what surrounds us. I guess I am no exception.

However, you will also find some of my songs with Norwegian lyrics on this web site. A couple of them are the songs I personally treasure the most out of all my compositions, seen from both the melodic, emotional and lyrical side of things.

By the way: If you see the small megaphone icon next to a song title on this web site, that indicates that you can click on it to listen to the song in MP3-format.
